Ard na Sidhe（阿德那斯）的本意是“仙女山”的意思，指的是酒店附近树木覆盖着的一个小山丘，小山丘面朝西地坐落在岩石坡上，面前是Caragh Lake（卡拉湖）的湖水。1958年已故的 Dr. Liebherr（利勃海尔博士）购买了此房产，两年之后开始接待客人。此房产最初是由Lady Gordon（戈登夫人）修建而成的，戈登夫人有着爱尔兰贵族血统， 据说她的祖先Bess Stoke（贝丝斯托克斯）的鬼魂曾出没在这块土地上。
戈登夫人购买了现在酒店所处位置的土地，1913年，她开始修建她“梦想中的房子”。她使用了一个来自于Killorglin（基洛格林）的一个工程承包商，并使用了当地工人，所有的建筑材料，除了绿色和灰色的Westmoreland（威斯特摩兰）屋顶石板，都来自于本土爱尔兰。这个房子房体长，屋顶低矮，房子的两侧是山形墙，窗户安装在石窗棂中。戈登夫人说,“...这个房子从来看不出来是新的”。也许是因为暖棕色的砂岩或者是因为Kerry（克里）的气候，整个房子的外观立刻呈现着一种看似经历了几个世纪风吹雨打的沧桑感。戈登夫人的建筑师是Morley Horden（莫利霍登），之所以选择他并不是因为他出众的能力，而是因为他那浪漫的外表。
莫利霍登的建筑灵感来自于荒废的教堂，那些荒废的教堂是Kerry（克里）地区古代盖尔文明唯一的保留品。
