KFest 2014 takes place from May 30th to June 2nd in Killorglin. It is a music and arts festival at its heart and this year’s line-up includes 75 artists, 25 galleries and 15 bands celebrating what they love all in one place over the June bank holiday weekend. Highlights include a series of free art exhibitions and art debate series at various locations transformed into pop up galleries around the town. There is also a mystery public art piece that will be unveiled, free poetry and readings, a secret cinema club and a ticketed series of night time concerts.
The Glenbeigh Festival and Races take place from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st of August in 2014. The horse racing takes place on Rossbeigh beach on the Saturday and the Sunday and are the highlight of the festival. The local bars in nearby village Glenbeigh host nightly entertainment. Entertainment is a focal point of the festival and in 2013 the festival committee included a marquee on the beach with flat screen TVs to view the races, set up live music, organised dancing and a full bar onsite.
The Flavour of Killorglin takes place from the 12th to the 14th of September in 2014. It is a festival that celebrates the culinary delights of Killorglin and the areas that surround it. It is very much focused on locally produced food made by the local restaurants, bars and food producers in the area. The focal point of the festival centres on the taste trail around 30 locations around the town including cafes, pubs, restaurants and stalls. Participants purchase ‘flavour vouchers’ which they use to purchase to sample culinary cuisine at each location they choose to visit. On street entertainment includes dancing in the town square and chef demonstrations.go back
